Remote Learning at Writhlington

General information

Students will be following the same curriculum and timetable as they would in school

Teachers will set work for all lessons on Google Classroom which students should complete during their normal lesson times.

Google Classroom can be accessed from any web browser (by logging into to gmail with their school email address and password) or from the Google Classroom app.

Students need to find their relevant class, then look for that lessons assignment (should be dated) and complete the work as directed (the video below shows what this should look like).

Once they have completed the work they should upload evidence (this could be as simple as a photo) to show that they have completed the work and click the submit button

What you should expect as a parent

All lessons (as per a students timetable) will set work on Google Classroom

Remote teaching will use a range of approaches as and when appropriate:

Students can access google classroom using any device

Students must upload evidence of their work after each lesson and click submit on Google Classroom

Students will be assessed as per the normal school assessment schedule but tests will be adapted for home learning

If students miss lessons or do not complete work then staff will contact the student in the first instance and parents in all other instances.

If a student is unable to complete work due to illness then they should let the school know in the normal way.

Progress Leaders will contact home if there are any issues or concerns with students online attendance or work
